Bright Spot Friday

Coach Emily (the new one) here!

One of our core values at Refuge is Family.  To us, it means doing life together.  It means sharing burdens.  And it means celebrating victories.  We’ve seen how having this support system helps people (us included!) create meaningful, sustainable change in their lives and we are HERE FOR IT.  And in order to see the progress, sometimes you need to call it out.  It’s easy to be your own worst critic and gloss over the successes that have happened.

So beginning Friday, we’re going to start a little thing called Bright Spot Friday on our member Facebook page.  It’s our chance every week to reflect on all the good that has happened.  We, the coaches, will get the conversation going by posting our “bright spots”: things that went right, things we’re celebrating, and any little “wins” from the week.  These bright spots don’t need to be CrossFit related, but they definitely can be if that’s what happened in your week!

I know this might not come naturally to everyone: “I don’t really know these people THAT well…they don’t want to hear about my life.” Or “I don’t want to share all my personal stuff…”  But much like what we do every day at the gym, this requires consistency and effort over time.  It’ll feel hard during the process, but you’ll feel so much better once you’re done!

To make this a little easier, we’ll go first.  And to keep the conversation going, we might call you out to share.  So be thinking about the things that have brightened up your week so you’re ready on Friday!
